It's time to update this blog.
The past week has been ROUGH. Siena had her 2-week appointment on Thursday, 4/17. Everything checked out well except for her weight. She had only gained 2 oz (weighing in at 5 lb 7 oz that day) since she was born so the Pediatrician recommended contacting a particular lactation consultant. That day Mom started on the addition of Mother's Milk Tea and More Milk Plus herb drops to increase milk supply.
On Monday, Siena still wasn't gaining and was looking really pale, so with a lot of reservation on Mom's part (and arguments with Dad), formula supplement was added to the mix. Since then, she has gained 7 oz and her coloring is back to normal. Mom's milk supply has boosted (hello leakage!)so hopefully after Siena gains some more weight she can go back strictly to the boob again. We shall see - baby steps...
Grandma and Grandpa Plas are in town and got to meet Siena for the first time yesterday. She's loving the family time! Then next weekend Gma and Gpa Soriano visit for a week. Hopefully Mom and Dad can get their hair cuts done at that time and put a temporary end to the homeless look.
It's difficult to imagine that Siena's estimated due date was this past Wednesday. It feels like she has always been here...
Mom also had her 3-week checkup with the OB/GYN and checked out A-OK! 9 lbs to lose.
